Yes, your care plan includes any medication prescribed up to £90 (refreshed every 3 months). Once you have confirmed the medication you want, it will be delivered to you next working day. For the majority of patients, this will cover their prescriptions entirely and there will be no additional costs. For example, the below combinations of medication are fully covered:
Most women will be prescribed 1-2 items after their initial appointment. If the value of your medications prescribed goes above £90, we will let you know the additional cost after your appointment and you can choose whether you want to get all or a subset of the medication.
This gives you flexibility, so if you are on NHS HRT you can use the letters from our appointments to continue getting your HRT medication through them and use the credit on your plan against remaining prescriptions that you cannot get via the NHS (e.g. testosterone).
Alternatively, you can choose not to have any medication, which reduces the price of your care plan to £69 per month
Yes, absolutely. The letter you get after your nurse appointment will help you access HRT through the NHS.
To remove medications from your care plan, you can request this after your initial nurse appointment with your care coordinator. The monthly plan cost would subsequently drop to £69 per month for care and support only.
HRT medication is the most recommended treatment for menopause symptoms - but taking it is completely your choice. Our experts will talk you through all your treatment options, from lifestyle to medication, and help you to create a plan which works for your needs.
If you do not choose to start medications after your initial appointment you will be able to remove this from your care plan. The cost would subsequently drop to £69 per month for care and support only.
Your clinician may recommend blood tests if you are on medication but still experiencing symptoms and/or if you are considering starting testosterone.
In general, blood tests are not necessary for hormone diagnosis. However, blood tests can be useful to exclude other underlying issues and support ongoing treatment.
You can cancel this plan up to 2 working days before your appointment. After that, there is a minimum 3 month commitment required because your medication is delivered in 3-month supplies. You can cancel every 3 months in line with when you are due your next follow-up appointment and prescription.
No, the plan does not include scans, or any other investigations. If you need scans, we can direct you to local services.
